Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Don’t you just love gifts! When you receive gifts whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just because you’re pretty amazing, you feel so happy and all warm and fuzzy inside.
The only thing you have to do is unwrap them. You grin from ear to ear, you feel loved and special because someone was thinking about you….this feeling is priceless.
It’s the same way with the gift of faith that has been given to all of us. We are valued and special and so each and every one of us has been given the gift of faith. Some of us just choose not to unwrap our gift.
What is Faith?
Here’s the thing, faith is not something tangible that you can see or touch. Faith is holding on with unshakeable, undaunted belief and certainty to that which you hope for, as real facts.
Even though you cannot see or experience it with your physical senses and although your reality is the complete opposite. You are unmovable in your belief.
It is a powerful force that lives within you. It can also be described as claiming and owning the things that you hope for and when you unearth that faith and activate it extraordinary things can happen.
Faith is not just being positive but it’s a decision you make about where you are going to put your trust. God always step up to the plate and meet your needs when you take that step and launch your faith.
Why You Need Faith
In your day-to-day life, you take care of yourself by exercising and using weights to challenge and build your muscles in order to make you stronger. Faith operates by using the same approach.
You’ve already been gifted with faith, you just need to let go and use the faith you already possess. When you repeatedly use your faith that’s when it grows. So use your gift consistently and build that muscle.
When you are faced with challenges on the daily, exercise that muscle- your faith. The more you use it, the stronger it will become.
Let’s be real, it does not mean that by having faith there will not be fearful or challenging moments because we all know that life is full of surprises.
As a matter of fact, it means that especially in those moments you really need to let your faith soar and be confident that God in His awesomeness will come through.
Things will go haywire from time to time. Yes, indeed life is really full of twists and turns and ups and downs. This is where faith matters.
It is therefore crucial that you activate your faith because it helps you to better deal with challenges that come from every angle every single day.
You can launch your faith by what you say or do in faith. When you pray in faith, believe that what you say, do or pray for is guaranteed. You will be amazed at the incredible things that God will do in every area of your life when you give your faith wings.
Don’t be lax and let that powerful gift of faith lay in a coma. Think about it, you have nothing to lose by stepping out in faith. When you pray, believe that you receive it and be patient, God will come through in his timing.
Take the story of the centurion’s faith in Matthew 8:5-13. He asked for his servant to be healed and he was unwavering in his belief that his sick servant would be healed. His faith was rewarded with what he believed – the healing of his servant.
Another prime example is in the book of Daniel, chapter six (6). Daniel had a very important job, he was a governor at his office but he had jealous rivals who wanted to get rid of him.
So they plotted and convinced the king to issue a decree. That decree issued would condemn Daniel to death by being thrown in a lion’s den. But he prayed and believed that God would get him out of that mess.
His faith was rewarded. Not one hair on his head was harmed. He came out without so much as a scratch on his body.
Instead of being paralyzed by fears that you have been harbouring for a long time or that rears its ugly head from time to time, activate your faith and trust the process.
If you are anxious and fearful, don’t cower in fear but start to trust God with your life regardless of what happened in the past. Look towards the future and have faith in God.
You cannot control life, the important thing is your reaction to it. Be fearless and slay your giants by stepping into faith. I dare you, open your gift of faith.
Don’t get complacent and hide your faith in a box. Are you using the faith God gifted you?
