There is no question, that you’ve been there and understand exactly what I’m talking about.

You may be working on a goal you’d like to achieve and it’s just not working out. It could be your job. Or maybe it’s your relationship that is the source of your frustration.

But regardless of what you try things just aren’t getting off the ground to move the needle to make some progress.

You might even have developed some type of coping technique for those times when you’re frustrated. The issue is that sometimes these game plans aren’t the best choice.

Dealing with frustration in a healthy way is a constant challenge.  Here is why. When you’re frustrated you tend to react and lose it. You get angry, upset, or irritated.

The thing to do instead is to make every effort to respond by taking measures to switch things up and take steps to tackle the situation and fight back.

Don’t take a beating from your frustrations. Look at the flip side because there are healthy and natural ways to deal with your frustrations.  These tips will help you look at the bright side.

Accept The Situation

Thinking

The very first thing you need to do when dealing with anything frustrating is to recognize and accept the situation for what it is.

Come to terms with the realness of the situation. Once you realize and understand why you’re frustrated it could mean way less emotional distress for you.

This can give you some much-needed space. Which can then allow you to respond and take action to do something about it, so that its no longer taking over your life.

Write A Letter To Yourself

Write a letter to someone you can trust asking for help. Outline and give an in-depth description of what is tormenting you and causing you misery.

Explain all the ins and outs of how you got to your current position. Then describe what you want to see take place and what you think you can do to make that happen.

When you’ve finished writing this letter then you can get rid of it.  On its own, writing has many emotional benefits. And this exercise in itself is very therapeutic. You might just be surprised at how much better you feel and you may even get ideas for a solution just from doing this activity.

Do A Brain Dump

What are your solutions toward changing whatever is causing you to be frustrated? Do a Brain dump and write down everything that comes to mind even if it seems like a crazy or foolish thought.

The good thing is that this helps you to fight stress and overwhelm that comes with those conditions. But, not only that, you will be able to come up with tons of options that can help to counteract your situation.

You can then use this list as a starting point toward figuring out a solution to the issue that you’re having.

Laughter

When you include laughter in your life and can make a huge difference. It’s one of the best things you can do to ease your mind.

For instance, watching comedy movies helps to ease that additional layer of pressure. Surrounding yourself with family and friends who are not afraid to add humor during the times when you meet is a beautiful thing.

Laughing releases endorphins and helps to make you feel better all round and so frustration stands little to no chance against it.

Look At The Big Picture

Thinking

Take a step back and look at the big picture. What will your particular frustration look like further down the road? Next week or next year?

Try to wrap your mind around it. Will it be as frightening or terrifying as it is now? When you ask yourself these types of questions it helps you to see things from a different angle, and so that makes your frustration easier to deal with at that moment.

Surround Yourself With Energetic People

Surround yourself with people who are full of energy and are just passionate and enthusiastic about life.

If you surround yourself with positive people then their positive attitude will naturally rub off on you. This will help you to stay positive and it will motivate you to be optimistic.

You’ll be amazed to find that your frustrations will start to fade in the distance with this type of positive tone.

Interact With Other People

We often forget that socializing and interacting with other people helps to relieve our frustrations. Speak with family or friends and let them know what is frustrating you.

Positive connections with your family and friends help you to combat frustrations and other forms of stress that you may experience. You’ll realize that you’re not the only one.

You’ll discover that other people have been in the same situations as you. And even more important, is the fact that they came out the winner, moving past the very same issue.

Focus on Something Else

This is a great time to try out something else. It could even be an old hobby. When you switch your attention to something else, you’re reducing the amount of focus you put on the negativity surrounding you.

That means being creative is a solid way of helping you to relax your mind. And that can be done with almost any activity.

Try doing some puzzles, playing a musical instrument, coloring, taking photos, painting, singing, or even singing.

Doing these simple repeated tasks helps you to focus your attention someplace else. Split your frustrating tasks into bite-sized pieces and then work on each piece giving it your full attention. Without a doubt, you’re bound to have some progress.

Conclusion

The important thing is not to throw in the towel but to keep moving forward. As long as you’re persistent you’ll see progress and make it to your end goal.
